The Breakfast of Oberon
~ Entry for the Godot Wild Jam #70 ~
Theme: Folklore
~~~~~~
Story:
Oberon wants some eggs and the chef decides to go big or go home.
You play as a Baba Yaga who wants to defend it's new eggs.
~~~~~~
Default controls - A and D for movement and Left Mouse Button for Shoot
ESC during game to change audio and keybinds.
~~~~~~
Known buggy things:
Key binds are in the menu and customizable. If you want to switch to right click, please right click outside the button box.
The volume sliders are super finicky on the start menu for some reason. If you press ESC during the game you can change the volume a lot easier!
~~~~~~
DEV Background:
Just a solo dev on this project! I just started game development and usually lean toward programming but I had fun making my crude art and sounds for the game lol.
~~~~~~
Jam Stuff:
Originally I was going for a skin walker to try and make a fun game with the wild cards, but it proved too large of scope and I came to the realization that I needed a different game. I scrapped that idea and started work on this game instead!
It's a simple game but I had a lot of fun making it. It's technically my first game as well since my first game is still currently in development and unfinished.
~~~~~~
You're still reading this? Wow... well, I hope you have fun with the game :)

Flawless victory!! Anyone beat a score of 97?
My thoughts:
Awesome first solo jam project! I'm excited to play more of your work!
I've played it a lot during the testing and I think my max score is 110. 97 is a really good score though :)
I'm honestly really afraid of changing the descriptions and stuff while the game jam is still in the voting period, but I do have some plans to add small changes after the jam to just continue development and make the game slightly better as a side project.
I plan on adding an easy mode, damage indicators on the portals to indicate they're taking damage, and a little speed boost to the character if you hit a fairy :)
Cute game! The sounds are hilarious! Very impressive for a solo project. I look forward to seeing your next game jam game!
PS. I died at 1 min 10s left :(
Oberon was not pleased
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
My next jam is planned on being the Pirate Software one and we have a project being worked on outside of jams.
